Thanks for introducing so many of us to jess, she's so real and so inspiring. I have tried the aurora, city oil and the eclipse. The aurora broke me out bc of the coconut oil – I was so sad! But it ended up being a nice hand me down for my sister and I think she'll love it bc she uses coconut oil on her skin all the time. I use city oil the same way you do and I really like it. I'm not sure if I see any changes to my skin from it but it just feels right putting it on and its a little moment of bliss in the morning. I like the eclipse as a second cleanse after taking off my makeup. I found it didn't take off makeup for me? Anyway I also want to try it as a 10 min mask as jess mentioned in a video! <3

I love love love Stark! My skin responds so well to the three products I have tried so far (Aurora, City, and Midnight) and the scents just make everything better. Looking forward to placing a Petrichor order soon! Thanks for spreading the word, Mercedes!

Great review! The cleansing balm sounds especially lovely πŸ’› I'll have to give Stark a look πŸ™‚ Really nice that the products are available in multiple sizes. Smaller sizes are so much better for smaller budgets, if you rotate products, or simply to make sure you're using a fresh/more potent batch. Wish more companies offered half sizes at least.

I've been watching Jess' videos (on your recommendation however many months ago) and like her so much. Planning to invest in some Stark products but was having trouble deciding on which ones, so this review was really helpful — it solidified my desire for midnight, and made me rethink eclipse as a purchase that could benefit both me AND my young teen daughter, who is dealing with acne and keeps wanting to go spend her allowance on drugstore scrubs that do more harm than good. As someone who has to be careful with money and balks against the greed/consumerism of cult-y products, I have ended up favoring a diy routine of bentonite clay + apple cider vinegar masks, cleansing with honey, etc, but diy is not my girl's style so I am super appreciative both that Stark is relatively affordable and that Jess' philosophy is one I can get behind. Thanks so much for this video, Mercedes!

I was first introduced to Stark and Jess' channel from binging your videos…I don't even remember which in it was or how far back it went. I then. Immediately binged on her videos too…lol! I absolutely respect the transparency and stance you both have shared with all of us. I began using Stark and love each of the products I have of hers. (aurora, eclipse, pretichor, city, and midnight). Thank you for sharing the tip of use the aurora as a buffer with the eclipse. The eclipse has been to much for me, as I have very sensitive skin and mild rosacea…but sometimes I feel like I need that…squeaky clean feeling. I'm def going to try it that way and hopefully I will be able to use it 1-2 times per week! You, Jess, Jordan Samuels (also heard from you), And the Color Green are my favorite. If I had to unfollow everyone except a couple…y'all would be staying. I look forward to every Sunday!

I have the 2oz size of Aurora and I've used it daily for about a month, and I'm halfway through the jar. I use an 1/8 tsp to measure it out. I sometimes use it as an eye cream and lip balm, too. Can't wait for her dry shampoo release this summer!

I purchased my first Stark products about a month ago and I chose Eclipse, Tendril, City, and Midnight. I like that you used the word 'crave' for Midnight because that perfectly sums up the experience I've had with all four products. The entire experience, from the scent profile to the functionality of the product, has made me fall back in love with skincare. Jess excels at what she does and I draw so much inspiration from her. I love supporting fellow Canadians too. Love and rebellion 🀘

P.S. Love the tip for using the balm under the cleanser. I'll have to remember that for next winter.

This review was beautiful. I love the product combinations that you talked about here. I can't wait to go and get me some more Stark. I had the city oil. My skin just felt comfortable and I dig that. You ladies are presenting in your videos where we should be headed in this environment with transparency and authenticity! I totally dig the connection that you and Jess have! <3

This is a question for Jess. Are there any products that would be good for Rosacea skin or any to stay away from? I tried the Grapefruit cleansing balm and my skin sadly breaks out terribly from coconut oil; I haven't checked the new balm but does it have coconut oil as well?

I have Aurora and Petrichor and love both! I find that I luxurate in my a.m. and p.m. routines now, and I believe it's due to the intoxicating scents of these products. They make me want to slow down and enjoy taking care of and appreciating my body. I'm also loving Jess and her approach to her business and her customers, not to mention that she has a YouTube channel that is so fun, helpful and informative. I think I'm a bit of a fangirl, too! I can't wait until my self-imposed no-buy is over so I can work on getting her whole line. I don't think I've ever wanted a whole line of skincare before, so that should give an inkling to how highly I think of Stark and Jess. ❀️❀️❀️

Great video! I wonder if you would like Dr. Dray's videos. Not a green beauty person, but she is a dermatologist and I think she might be an ally in your emerging anti-capitalist revolutionary beauty path. Her basic message is, most beauty claims are not subject to scientific testing, here's what actual science tells us about skin, stop loading crap on your skin (irritating), and nourish yourself with food etc. In a moment when scientific expertise is under threat I think we really need people who are willing to say "scientific testing" is valuable. Anyways, I'd be curious how you are thinking about science advocacy as part of your project. Keep up the good work!

Such an informative video. Midnight didn't work for me (I think I need essential oil free face oils — been watching all the Jordan Samuel vids and ordered his collection), but I love Petrichor. I rotate it with JR Hydrating Accelerator — but def reach for Petrichor more! Tendril is next on my Stark list.

Thank you for doing this lineup review Mercedes! I am so so intrigued by Stark and have watched several of her videos. I want to ask because I couldn't find in the video if you mentioned how you think the line plays with other brands in regards to using it in a routine? I am considering incorporating the line into my backbar with one or two other brands. would you enjoy getting a stark facial? Do you think the lineup offers a start to finish experience or is it better used in pieces? thank you for any input! paix

I have been loving the reformulation of Stark. My skin is on the normal most of the time and since using Aurora, Eclipse, and the hydrosol my skin has almost become more oily (but not in a bad way). I'm really enjoying the line and can't wait to see what else Jess creates.

Great review of Stark's line! I had the balm a couple of years ago and loved it and had a sample of the midnight oil and remember liking it as well. Im intrigued by Tendril asevery hair oil I've ever used has been a disaster that made my hair look so greasy, even with one drop on my ends…I wonder how this would work on my hair which is quite similar to how you described yours.
Jess's attitude and honesty makes her brand so appealing, and she is one of the most relatable brand owners I've come across. PS – love that CT lipstick on you! 😍

I'm obsessed with Stark. I have aurora, midnight, and city- and I ordered eclipse and petrichor. It's close to a full skin care routine, just adding in sunscreen, retinoids, vitamin C and masks. Do you find that you are using the face oils every day, or do you alternate with others?

The gender questions and thoughts are definitely interesting. I've never really thought to make my skin care more inclusive to men – I think my thoughts were more centered around femininity-unconsciously. I think it's great to be inclusive. I still have yet to try Stark – I'm trying to get through some other skin care I have before I place an order. Happy Sunday my love πŸ˜ŠπŸ’•πŸ’•
