thanks for listing fragrances, a lot were citrus, which I'm allergic to… it's also not great for skin… but since I didn't like the colours, it doesn't really matter… I like the mauve too… going to try 3 custom colour dupe of lancome rose defile… it's discontinued and cannot find a close match…

Crazy how different the colors look on the MUG website compared to live wear. Nothing more irritating than ordering lip colors online and getting colors you wouldn't normally wear.

Well that's a bummer! I know Marlena puts so much work into her products. Oh well. They can't all be winners. Btw Jen, you looked great in Flamenco! They all looked good on you, but that one really stood out to me. 😊

Jen, thank you for your honesty! I can tell that was not easy not being blown away by MUG product, but your only being honest and us subby's really appreciate your honesty!

It is pretty incredible how different the swatches looked from the Makeup Geek website versus on your lips. I absolutely love the pink colors. Too bad they don't wear that well. As always fabulous job on the review.💄

I have to sadly say I was very disappointed in these. I was so excited to get them. But, I probably won't be using them.

I've been wanting to try this product for awhile now. That is, until I saw the significant difference in your swatches versus the MUG site. Wow. Now I'm not even considering ordering any. Too much of a difference in the way MUG shows how they look compared to how they actually look. What a bummer! 😕

A++ for trying to be positive about a less than stellar product. I can tell you were really wanting it to work. I did laugh at the long pause when you were thinking who these would be good for. Sadly, nobody.

There wasn't a single one that I didn't think looked patchy, consistent with every other lip swatch of these I've seen.

hmmm ..they're pretty enough live swatched that I'm not understanding why they had to fudge on the swatches they released for the website…the undertones are not even the same. They look exactly like some swatches I've seen on those cheap apps like wish or cute where they all look the same but when you receive the shades, they look nothing like the swatches on the site. One might expect that on these sites where you are paying $1/lippie, but MUG is a legit company with a brand unto them-self. You would think they would want to be more accurate as you need to build trust with your customers to keep them there. Highly disappointing …

thank you for the ingredient analysis Jen! for those of us with autoimmune conditions, the time you put into this is not unnoticed and we appreciate it. products that go on the mouth are toughest.

The MUG website swatches looked flat & muted compared to how the product showed on you. Lip swatches (showing lip products being worn on the mouth) can be both helpful & misleading since the models natural lip color will of course influence the end result but it sure beats the swatches that usually accompany any new product launch.

Sad to hear this one wasn't a home run for MUG. I've avoided the whole matte & liquid lipstick phenomenon because it is straight up too drying on my already chapped, parched mouth. Reapplying lipstick or gloss isn't that big a deal for me & I always know which wine glass is mine 😉

These were a pass for me when temptalia reviewed them. The colors aren't accurate, aren't opaque, and look dry af. No thank you. They might be less expensive per ml, but the quality is awful, so cost means very little, imo.

Love the depth of your ingredient analysis. I think Anastasia and Stila both are overpriced (yet have drying formulas). With all the other brands I won't buy theirs. Thanks for this thorough review Jen.
